The interfaces are a not negligible criterion when configuring industrial PCs. Here, the customer’s foresight and foresight is required. He has to determine which other devices his industrial PC should be able to communicate with now and in the future.

Industrial PCs can be equipped and supplied with all known and also with “more exotic” interfaces. Standard interfaces are e.g. Connections to the monitor (VGA, DVI, HDMI), USB connections of various specifications (USB 2.0 to USB 3.2) and Ethernet connections (vulgo: Lan cable).

Depending on the area of application, there are also additional interfaces such as PoE Ethernet, digital I / O, CAN bus systems in vehicles and many more.

Industrial PCs can also be used for high, internal data transfer rates e.g. between the main processor and graphics card with PCIe (or PCI-E) interfaces. The two alternative abbreviations stand for “Peripheral Component Interconnect Express”. They are basically a modernized version of the “normal” PCI interface.
